I am Canadian!

I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, or free to choose those who shall govern my country. This heritage of freedom I pledge to uphold for myself and all mankind.
- John Diefenbaker
(From the Canadian Bill of Rights, July 1, 1960.)

He shall have dominion also from sea unto sea,
and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
  ~ Psalm 72

Feeling proudly Canadian, and so Patriotic as always, it's never "Canada's July 1st Birthday" around here with out a whole bunch of additionally sprinkled red and white decor.

At last, our four new Adirondack chairs are painted, and placed on the back deck. Yay!

It was quite difficult fun to find these flag banners, then to actually hang the flapping maple leafs around the rails of the balcony edging.

There are no limits to the majestic future which lies
before the mighty expanse of Canada with its virile,
aspiring, cultured, and generous-hearted people.
- Sir Winston Churchill

As the wind grew, and the flags began flapping about through its breezy blowing, one could only appreciate the reminder of our freedom, in a wonderful country such as ours.

Under this flag may our youth find new inspiration for loyalty to Canada; for a patriotism based not on any mean or narrow nationalism, but on the deep and equal pride that all Canadians will feel for every part of this good land.
- Lester Pearson

" O Canada! Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada, we stand on guard for thee."

...And (just to be off-season cheeky), it wouldn't be Canadiana inclusive at the heart of our National Anthem, not until witnessing it sung at an ice hockey game...

Canada is like a loft apartment over a really great party.
Like: "Keep it down, eh?"

- Robin Williams

And, by the way, the spectacular fireworks are always a great way to end the day...
