Happy St. Nicholas Day to you....and you, and you...

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there...

Today we celebrate the feast day of St. Nicholas, a man who really lived and is not only known for performing many miracles, he is also the inspiration for the current day "Santa Claus". Today we also celebrate this Dutch family tradition by implementing the time honored little extras we always have, in a fun and special way.

Every year the children offer reminders when December 6th is almost at hand, and with a childlike anticipation, they get so excited as it approaches nearer.

A favorite here - The bags of golden coins..

The Three Impoverished Maidens,
or,
The Story Of The Dowries....found HERE!

Yummy taitai cookies, chocolate and assorted goodies shown below!

Year after year, not one child misses the opportunity to place a shoe out the evening before, in the hopes St. Nicholas would appear (smile). Bags of coins were found tossed into their shoes today, and many other goodies were nearby. Guess what they all wanted for breakfast today?

Let's feast and we'll continue to hang out HERE today.
