After the ferocious snow squalls

...the wind blew much of the snow away last week, that is before more snow fell yet again. No doubt viewing this post after the past two "summer in winter" posts, this becomes quite a stark contrast weather-wise doesn't it?

Temperatures last week fell to -28-30C, slightly chilly.
Add to that an entire day's worth of our worst winter snow squall activity yet, and even the dogs didn't want to be outdoors any longer than they had to.

And then - the sun did not fail to shine but it was still very cold.

"Winter ...

is the time for comfort,

for good food and warmth,

for the touch of a friendly hand

and for a talk beside the fire:

it is the time for home."

~ Edith Sitwell
