One red ball and one gold star

... are all that remain on the tree outdoors, the one our children decorated shortly before Christmas.

With a basket full of assorted tree ornaments and one gold star, all were lovingly hung on the tree by the children. Within the next while and after the many windy storms, only one red ball and the shiny gold star still remain intact today.

When the great thaw arrives, we will be able to relocate and collect our lost treasures beneath the 2 1/2 feet of snow depth underneath the tree, dry them up and then store them away until next year.

Our neighbors have often remarked how they enjoyed the festive bobbles swinging from this tree while it lasted.

Our neighbors have also remarked recently how often "that golden star" captures their attention when the sun's rays bounce from it to greet them.
