When merry lads are playing.
Fa la la...
Each with his bonny lass,
upon the green grass.
Fa la la...
The Spring clad all in gladness,
Doth laugh at winter's sadness.
Fa la la...
~ Thomas Morley
It’s the month of May, when spring offers its fullest blossoms, and the air warms up to tease us with the next season to come, that of summer.
Our craft table was full with tempting pleasures and children frothing at the mouth wanting to jump in and create. They jumped in alright, and today they are in the middle of delivering a few baskets to their siblings’ bedroom doorknobs, and to a select few neighbors (select few because there are very few within walking distance here in the country).
As their creative stashes become depleted, I see the craft table in use again today, and I know what they’ll be up to the rest of the afternoon. Boy oh boy, you should see what their daddy has in store for him! (And if you’re reading this honey, pretend you didn’t see it!)
Happy May Day to you! May you reap the rewards of a few floral items yourself today, either from your garden of spring delights, or perhaps a secret visitor who has gifted your front doorknob today.
The fair maid who, the first of May
Goes to the fields at break of day
And washes in dew from the hawthorn tree
will ever after handsome be.
