Sunday messages

Sunday messages....

I loved today's Epistle readings from;

Ephesians 4; 1-6

Brethren, I, a prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation in which you are called. With all humility and mildness, with patience, supporting one another in charity, careful to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. One body and one spirit, as you are called in one hope of your calling. One Lord, one faith, one baptism. One God, and Father of all, Who is above all, and through all, and in us all, Who is blessed forever and ever.

As we prepare for back to school this week, setting up schedules for chores and schooling around various other life pressing action plans, I found these verses just set it all straight. Focus on the important stuff and all else will fall into place. Period. What is your primary vocation in life?

An honor to be asked to serve in this
small parish we don't always attend.

Our older son was asked to serve at mass today, something of a rarity these days in small country churches offering only biweekly services. This was the day a new priest came to the area so not only did we notice HOW TALL he's grown, we were really proud of him taking the lead to pair up with this eager young man serving along with him today. And yes, I just happened to have my camera in my purse...as per usual. It comes in handy at moments like this but no flash obviously was used. I especially loved the angels on both sides of the altar, heavenly messengers so beautiful and offering unspoken protection of sorts.

There are just special times when all seems right with our vocations in life. Today was one of those times, in many more ways than one.

Amen!
