Surf's Up!

After a long day of brick hauling and weed pulling, off to the beach we went after dinner tonight, mostly to relax and chill out.

Isn't that what summer is all about anyway? Taking time to relax at the end of the day sounds like a plan to me today especially as the old muscles begin to stiffen up.


Around the block, the water beckoned us, but as we proceeded closer, we heard roaring waters and wondered what we were in for. The children and a friend had their surf boards (boogie boards) and good thing too!

The surf was up! WAY UP!

These pictures likely don't show what we saw, what the boards rolled over and heads bobbed under to. The waves hit and sent everyone flying, falling, surfing, even soaring mightily over it's water edged surf tips too.



On the shore, the water rose high, waves up to four feet slammed the sandy beach, and the breeze was melting our quiet moments as we, the audience clapped, laughed, snickered joyfully and took photos of the activity before us.

Surf is up!

And like our young son squeeled; "Is this what Hawaii is like?"

We answered; "You betcha!"...
