Epiphany 2010

We three kings of Orient have arrived at our destination.

All they from Saba shall come, bringing gold and frankincense, and showing forth praise to the Lord.

Arise and be enlightened, O, Jerusalem,
for the glory of the Lord is risen upon Thee.

Isaiah 60, 1

"We have seen the HIS star in the east,
and are come with gifts to adore the Lord"

In the kitchen, our children are currently baking up a storm with these cookie cutters we've owned for seven years.

They are most special and only come out of the cupboard for Epiphany, no other feast day because it is only upon this day the Three Kings are actually present with all others within the Nativity scene.

So far, I'm being gifted over and over again with fresh cookies coming my way, and in their excitement of working unaided as requested, all presented to me are so fresh, they remain undecorated.

Sometimes when young children bake in the kitchen, they forget what real nutrition is and for some strange reason today, they have officially declared their cookie booty to be their lunchtime food fare.

Hmmm.... I think we need to review the food pyramid again, but no matter, only for today they are baking, creating, and making one great big mess in my kitchen! hehehe

Happy Feast Day!

Happy Twelveth Day, twelve drummers are drumming and tonight we light all twelve of our "Twelve Days of Christmas" candles.

And a partridge in a pear tree....

Led by the star in the east, the first cookie
to be presented my way was this one.

Cute!
