Simple elegance is one of those sweet pleasures we can often take for granted. It's in the "simple" where we find the "elegant", if you get where I'm coming from with this. This isn't solely a thought about "simplicity", oh, no, it's much more than that. It is only limited by what the mind can not imagine, or appreciate, or find visible in the ordinary...

Each day during our everyday moments, if we dare, we can find the "elegant" in our midst, whether in our homes, during our daily journeys, while we visit other families in their home, or if stepping foot inside some type of commercial establishment, even outdoors we can find this and often if you're like me, I'm sure you do.

What defines "simple elegance" is something unique to each person. For me, it doesn't have to be something which presents itself with a great monetary value, or bold luxury as the word "elegant" itself may imply. For instance, in the photo below, I found something in the category of simple elegance with the lovely table setting before me, the comfort of the warm bread awaiting my palette and the pretty round spiral shaped balls of butter nearby. The addition of demure lighting and the inclusion of great company, my husband, added to the simplicity of reserved time together focusing on each other in a visual setting of simple elegance. A little conversation, and hand holding mixed in to the setting, and it soon became sheer bliss! No bling, bling here, just a few very simple things.

Simple elegance is everywhere! It is not reserved for the rich or the poor; it lay in our midst and creates an oasis of pleasure, simple pleasure. One need only open up their eyes to notice it. Simple elegance awaits us daily, from the moment we place one foot on the ground, to the time we bid the day adieu in the evening. Where is your simple elegance near you this moment?
